this love is ours~

You know how Long Distance Relationships can work? Here’s what I’ve come to realize…

I am not yet “in” a long-distance-relationship, nor “a” relationship. But I value what Michael and I share. As I read about faith in the Bible, I’ve come to realize how great God’s faithfulness to his people is. So I thought that we should somehow be like God when it comes to faithfulness. Here’s 4 similarities i found between God and someone special far away:

1. God seems so distant. We can’t see, hear or touch him. But we sure can feel Him. In fact, he is never distant from us. Just like someone faraway, a boyfriend for example. He seems so distant. We can’t see him physically, can’t feel his touch, or hear his voice. He may be physically far away, but your hearts never left each other. In that way, you’ll feel like you’re never far away from him. 

2. COMMUNICATE. We communicate to God through Prayer. We can talk to him anytime. It’s so convenient and easy, that’s why God was never far away and we can feel His faithfulness and sincerity to us through prayer. Just like the power of social networking sites, Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Yahoo Messenger. Use these to communicate, to keep in touch, so you’ll never feel any doubt about each other. In the same way, you will feel at ease and updated what he is doing even if he is far away.

3. Don’t you ever realize how trustworthy God is? When we put our trust in God, everything works fine. Just as you should always trust in your boyfriend even if he is far away. Trust that he is doing the right thing. Trust him that he still thinks of you. Don’t doubt or get jealous suddenly. Just trust. It makes a relationship stronger.

4. Always reminisce. Think about those times that you had problems, then suddenly it’s like God interceded and solved your problems. Think about the times God was there and made your life easier. It makes you happy, right? Do the same thing. Think about your happy moments together before when you were together. Think of your previous sweet conversations, talks, moments and cherish them. It makes you feel happy and not lonely anymore.

Most of the long-distance-relationships we know don’t last. Most of the time it is due to unfaithfulness of your partner or the need to find someone to love in replace of that person who’s far away. Isn’t that absurd? Then that just means you don’t love each other enough. Love doesn’t revolve around physical intimacy alone. So if he’s not there, then you’ll find someone else? WRONG! Faithfulness lacks. You see, if there’s faithfulness, you won’t doubt, won’t get insecure, you’ll feel at ease and you get to fill yourself of the thought of that person everyday even if he is physically not by your side. Try to be faithful to him, just as God is faithful to his people. It works. :)

P.S. Well, I AM NOT YET (YET!!!) IN A LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP! NOR A REAL RELATIONSHIP~ >_____< hahahahaha! I’m just in a “long-distance-(blank)” with someone special, Michael from Korea, as some may know. BUT, there’s just a hint that someday, someday, maybe a few long years from now, I’ll be in a relationship with him, which is a distant one if he’ll study someplace not here in the Philippines. Just want to share my thoughts about it and some advice I got. Read the Bible~ I tell you, it makes you realize things with the guidance of God’s Word! XIAO~ ^^
